It's hard to believe that it's the season for fall mums. But the geese are flying, the kids are going back to school, and the hours of sunlight are fleeing fast. Mums are responsive to daylight and in fact only start to bud as the days grow shorter (in scientific terms this is known as a photoperiodic response).
